Does your heart ache when you see abandoned puppies and kittens? When you see a dog that's been hit by a car and is limping down the road do you wish you could help? When you see a lost, too-thin former indoor kitty do you long to find it a forever home?
If you're like me, you want to help all those poor, struggling animals. And you can, with just one easy click of the mouse. All you need to do is vote for Little Bitsy so she can help other rescue animals like herself. More over the jump...
As I said in yesterday's diary, Little Bitsy is a rescued dog, found abandoned on the side of the road by Evelyn Bridges who works tirelessly for animal rescue in western North Carolina. Little Bitsy was adopted out, nursed back to health, and her new owners have pledged that 100% of any money Little Bitsy wins will go to help Evelyn's animal rescue efforts.
Here's Little Bitsy:
She's so cute!
All it takes is votes. That's where you can help! All you have to do is vote.
You do have to register to vote. You can voteonce per day. If you voted yesterday, thank you so much! And please voteagain today, and tomorrow, and Saturday.
Are you not quite sure if you want to help? Let Little Bitsy herself convince you. Here's a video of Little Bitsy, her owner and Evelyn who runs the animal rescue:
If you haven't seen it, go check out James Wolcott's rining endorsement of Little Bitsy over at Vanity Fair.
Although I am a cat person by temperament and joyful experience, Little Bitsy's cocked head and mute, beseeching stare speaks to my soul, and I intend to vote for Bitsy today, tomorrow, and each day until the votes are tallied, and I encourage you to do so too. Do it for animal rescue, do it for democracy, do it for America, do it for Bitsy.
He's going to vote for her every day. So can you!
Evelyn does a lot of good for a lot of animals:
The prize money will be used for animal rescue efforts in the county. Bridges, a passionate animal advocate, works closely with the Transylvania County Animal Shelter and animal rescue groups such as TAAG, Friends For Life, Animal Lighthouse, the Animal Compassion Network and others to help place animals in homes.
According to Bridges, last month she and other volunteers and friends pulled 31 animals from the local animal shelter.
Eight puppies were flown by the Pilots And Paws program from Greenville, S.C. to Orlando, Fla., and were then driven by volunteers to Port St. Lucie.
Bridges’ husband, Marion, recently drove another seven dogs from Brevard to Minneapolis.
That kind of dedication takes money. And you can help her fund her animal rescue efforts if you vote for Little Bitsy!
Let's help Little Bitsy help other animals in need. Vote Little Bitsy!
