Lions and tigers and bears ... oh, my! And they were all there at the coolest home on the block - the White House bathed in pumpkin orange.
Over 2,600 Trick or Treaters were greeted by a giant black spider dangling from its own web with pumpkins scattered all around the North Portico!
While lining up at the North Portico to load up their loot from the President and Michelle ...
The Trick or Treaters were greeted by amazing dancing butterflies in giant rolling bubbles ...
And entertained by a skeleton band ...
The kids were greeted by POTUS, FLOTUS and First Grandmother Marian Robinson, who all handed out treats of White House M&Ms, a homemade sweet dough butter cookie from the White House pastry shop, a Junior Range activity book and some dried fruits consisting of cherries, apricots, pears, apples and papayas. (There were some mixed reactions on that last "treat".)
POTUS was attired in casual slacks, checked shirt and black sweater. But FLOTUS clearly got the Memo and was in the spirit of the day channeling CatWoman by wearing an orange-and-black leopard-type top, cat ears and prominent black eye shadow. She earned a big Thumbs-Up from POTUS: "A very nice looking CatWoman!"
Then the party moved inside to celebrate with several hundred military families and the children of White House staff. President Obama especially addressed the families of those serving in the military:
"We are so grateful to you. Especially now, a lot of the times, you guys are separated. It's tough. The spouses who are at home are serving just as much as folks who are deployed. So we are just so thrilled that you guys could be here."
While Michelle did CatWoman-lite, Robert Gibbs, accompanied by his son, came as Darth Vader ...
And even UN Ambassador Susan Rice kicked back and came as Goofy ...
Barack chose to go the casual route. But you can take a poll choosing whether he did the dignified thing - or should have come in costume.

So while spending Halloween with the POTUS may have been the drawing card ...
For my money, Michelle (aka, CatWoman) stole the show!
But it most surely will be a night long-remembered by thousands of very fortunate Trick or Treaters.
