Well, I
had written a long
diary earlier today about how I was having problems with the idea of voting for Kerry in the general election.
And I still stand by those qualms, as I really don't like being pushed into things.
Cheerfully, all that has changed...
When I wrote that, I hadn't had a chance to scan the recent news. Now that I have, and seen Bush's latest assault on the Constitution (as well as read Kerry and Edward's responses to it), I can say
with certainty that I have no problems voting for Kerry, and supporting him enthuasiastically.
I wouldn't have voted for Bush under any circumstances, and ditto for Nader, but some of the attitudes around here made me think about just leaving the choice blank (I am, after all, in Texas. Bush isn't losing this state, no matter what I do) and voting just down-ticket races.
Not anymore. Congratulations, George Bush. Your Federal Marriage Amendment is uniting the party. Just not your party.
