All signs are pointing to a definite hand-off in the shadow Presidency.
Cheney seems to have relinquished control from here on out (through November 2004) to Karl Rove. Rove now appears to be in charge of both domestic and foreign policies.
Witness the decisions/discussions on steel tariffs (with Rove apparently suggesting they cancel the tariffs) to Bremer's recall from Iraq (with Rove apparently demanding a U.S. exit by Spring with Iraqis "taking over").
All actions on either front will now be driven by Rove's strategy in aligning Bush for the election.
How can we as a party exploit that and push these guys into a corner?
Nevermind the fact that Bush, himself, is out of the picture. (Or as John McCain would say, Bush is "disengaged" from the issues.)
I still say it would be fun to have a week where all of the Dem candidates answer questions about the President by beginning, "Well, President Cheney said last week..."
Only, now it would be, "Well, President Rove said..."
