You'd think that Sen. Al Franken's amendment prohibiting federal dollars from going to corporate sponsors of rape, would reflect a basic human and American value -- mainly, that women shouldn't be raped.
Of course, 30 Republicans decided that protecting corporate-sponsored rape was more important than protecting the women getting raped, and those Republicans are furious at Franken for making them make that choice because, you see, preventing corporate sponsored rape is apparently a Daily Kos value.
"I don’t know what his [Franken's] motivation was for taking us on, but I would hope that we won’t see a lot of Daily Kos-inspired amendments in the future coming from him," said South Dakota Sen. John Thune, No. 4 in the Senate Republican leadership. "I think hopefully he’ll settle down and do kind of the serious work of legislating that’s important to Minnesota."
Read the piece -- those Republicans are furious because Franken is so uppity, he's trying to prevent your tax dollars from going to corporate-sponsored rapists, all because those crazy Daily Kos kids think rape is bad!
Glad Republicans are being honest about their priorities.
