I saw Harry Reid on the Newshour and on C-span. Go Harry Go! Let's show him our love and show him the money. Whenever I see him tell it like it is, I'm giving Harry a hug and a penny for his actions. With cash when I can or with a note of thanks and encouragement at:

A story and an anti-recruitment plan follow.
My intro to dailyKos was through one Kossack's campaign to support Howard Dean vs. the MSM. This diarist suggested we make donations ending in 1 cent every time the media dis'd Dean by distorting something he said. I've never enjoyed spending $10.01 so much. The next day, MSM struck again, so I sent another $10.01. A week or so goes by & someone asks Dean how he feels about the media twisting his words -- Jon Stewart, possibly. Dean said he didn't mind a bit because every time they did, the Democrats broke new fundraising records.
Now I'm proposing we do the same for Harry we did for Howard.
Yes, I've said it before, but let's keep this going. I think it's extremely effective.
Here's another idea:
My mom used to ponder, "What if there was a war and nobody showed up." I'd like to set up tables in or near our local high schools giving info and military opt out forms to juniors and seniors. You can learn more about it yourself here. http://www.militaryfreezone.org/... Many schools are receptive to anti-military recruiters. We know these kids are too important to be blown up. The tables can educate kids and the public too, because we'll write letters to the editors about our activities. It's important to note, that if we want to dry up the military's livestock supply lines, we also need to reach the Spanish-speaking communities as well. You know Uncle Sam habla español. Puede decir" Amnesty?" One way to reach the Latino community is through kids.
Perhaps some of these kids will join us after school on December 7 (Pearl Harbor Day), when we assemble, lining the 4:30 sidewalks, wearing clean clothes & carrying signs like "Wars of aggression are wrong," "Give Peace a Chance," "If not now, when?"; not wearing ski masks & Ché Guevara T-shirts screaming, "George Bush is a Terrorist" while hurling rocks. We want to wave the flag, not burn it. That's because the only thing people fear more than an Orwellian Cabal is chaos. If W did, in fact, get 51% of the vote in 2004 (Democracy Now! 11/4/05 http://www.democracynow.org/...), that's the main reason why.
The momentum IS building. By thinking strategically, disobeying civilly, rather than rudely, if we echo the pleas for peace that respected people make; we can recruit MORE churchgoers, businessmen, construction workers & soccer moms instead of scaring them away and becoming our own worst enemies.
