I know Kerry's right and the administration's wrong, but the administration says exactly the opposite of the truth. Do you know what goes on in the mind of voters who are ill-informed enough that they haven't formed an opinion by now? "Well, Kerry says one thing, Bush says another. Bush seems like a regular guy, and no one has outright accused him of lying."
I hope that Kerry is going to ratchet up the rhetoric later in the campaign, once we get close to election day. Here's what I suggest:
"The president has called me a lot of names in the past months. He's even used the dreaded 'L-word'; that's right, the so-called compassionate conservative has called me a liberal and hoped it would stick. Well Mr. President, I've got another L-word, one that I think captures the essence of your entire administration. That word is 'Liar'. Let's count the ways...."
