Political Wire, it looks like Senate Majorit Leader Bill Frist is getting an earful.
He apparently "got a little more than he bargained for when he had his new book on the Frist family tree listed on Amazon.com as a way to make it easier for his relatives to purchase the tome," Roll Call reports.
The book, with the modest title
Good People Beget Good People: A Genealogy of the Frist Family, gets some
stellar reviews. To wit:
This ghost written, ego-inflating snoozer of a book will be a sure cure for anyone suffering from insomnia. The mendacious Frist expounds in mind-numbing detail on his "roots" and is sure to please readers who enjoy reading the fatuous, self-serving meanderings of wealthy, privileged, right wing ideologues who are fond of "good breeding", the land of cotton, and Dixie.
Readers who enjoy the study of eugenics may also want to consider "Children of the Flames: Dr. Josef Mengele and the Untold Story of the Twins of Auschwitz."
Or:
What kind of an ego-maniac publishes his own families geneology and calls it 'Good People Beget Good People'. Not to mention the $50 price tag. Seriously, this guy is a lousy majority leader, a moral and ethical hypocrite and an animal torturer. If he's good people then I hope to 'beget' something else.
Or:
Not only is he a terrible Majority Leader, he writes a book about how great his family is? What a jerk.
So if you have had the good fortune to read Senator Frist's loving ode to his family, be sure to write a review for Amazon and let him know what you think.
