If you are as outraged as I am about our government's cavalier attitude toward the death and dying in the wake of Katrina, please call your two Senators and your Representative and let them know you refuse to let their silence stand.
I found I could voice my anger and be polite at the same time...
I called my two senators and my congressman. I told whoever answered the phone that the silence form his or her boss was deafening. I told democrat and republican alike, that I would hold them responsible for the deaths. I told them it was there duty to start speaking out loudly and clearly. Then I thanked whoever answered the phone for letting me rage.
I also spoke to the editor of my local paper and suggested that the paper contact our senators and representative (I'm from Montana and we only have one.) to run a story about what role our elected leaders were playing in the rescue effort. I really want my office holders to feel accountable for what's going on.
After I post this, I'm going to contact Governor Schweitzer and Senate candidate Tester and ask why they haven't been heard on this.
