...The Freefall of George W. Bush and the neo-con/corporatist agenda for geo-strategic supremacy.
Things just aren't going well for the Bush Administration right now. Call it karma, comeuppance, justice or just plain bad luck; the whole house of cards appears to be crumbling. This doesn't mean that we've won; as a matter of fact what it means is that the Bush Administration and the architects of its policies are more dangerous than ever. After working for a generation to consolidate the kind of power they now enjoy, they aren't going give up easily and go quietly into the night. As a matter of fact, I think you can count on any number of dirty trick shenanigans to come out of the wood work.
But try as they might, the freefall is in progress and it ain't pretty.

To wit:
1. The new alliance between Iran & Iraq. In one real sense we have to give Bush credit living up to his word and allowing democracy to flow in Iraq. Though, you think they'd have known that by giving the Shiite majority, majority control that they would naturally form a strong bond with the Shiite dominated country of Iran. Iran and Iraq have kissed and made up about that pesky 80s war that killed a million folks. And why not kiss and make up about it? It was the Sunni Saddam and his US sponsors that were responsible. If Iraq had democracy all along that war never would have happened. Now Iran and Iraq have signed joint security agreements for security force training, border security, pipeline deals and all kinds of feel-good cooperation. They're even talking about building Iran's railroad system through Iraq, all the way to Syria. The Iraqi Prime Minister is asking us not to shoot first and ask questions later of their citizens. It's going to be pretty hard to use Iraq as any kind of cross-border staging area to attack to those Iranian nuclear power plants. Thank God we still have those bases in those countries surrounding Iran - oh oops. Which leads me to..
2. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Oopie-day, it seems we have overstayed our welcome in some of those strategery necessary countries like Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. Backed by the full weight of China and Russia, these countries are politely asking us to leave the military bases that we've been using in those countries since the invasion of Afghanistan. They gave us permission to stage military actions from their lands as part of the righteous war on terrorism, and now that the Taliban is gone and we've brought that good old fashioned American democracy to the Afghan people; it's time to leave. (Guess they don't read the papers over there.) Plus, it seems we haven't been very good tenants and have reneged on our rent as it were. China and Russia want us to set a withdrawal timetable and are threatening to make us leave at some point if we don't do it voluntary. That sounds like WWIII, IV and V if you ask me. I guess we've been checkmated on ZbigniewBrzezinski's grand chessboard.
3. The Political Disintegration of the Bush Administration. Well this one hardly needs covering. Between Rovegate, DowningStreetMemo gate, plunging poll numbers, no traction on ANY domestic agenda, dwindling war support and the fact that the majority of people think Bush is an untrustworthy liar, it would be tempting to say that the Bush administration is in its last throes. Tempting, but not wise.
Think of the Bush Administration as a caged animal, backed into a corner. There are two things that can happen. Fight or Flight. The Bush people are fighters. They will not roll over and give up. Now is the time to stifle our glee and be ever vigilant.
Because after the freefall comes the landing; and the splatter factor. To say that the Bush Administration has got blood on its hands, is to say the sky is blue. We can surmise that in their last throes they would be willing to do anything to survive or take as many of us down with them as they can. I'm not talking about conspiracy theories and new Pearl Harbors, I'm talking economic collapse, national emergencies and the end of the world as we know it. Our `empire' through mismanagement, fiscal irresponsibility and the failure to win the hearts and minds of anyone except the stupid, naïve or greedy, is teetering on the brink of collapse.
These people are dangerous and desperate. Their grand illusion of invincibility is over. The Emperor is seen for what he is; naked and afraid. The façade of righteousness has melted into thin air.
They say the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Now is the time to get out of the way and watch from a distance, because the splatter factor is likely to be huge.
