Just curious about this.
Why does every attempt by the Bush administration to intervene in the international arena end up with something like
this?
Thousands demonstrating in Haiti for the return of Aristide. Their demand? That he finish off the five year term to which he was elected.
As I've said before, it seems obvious that there was not much to like about Aristide as the president of Haiti. But the situation on our hands now is one of a destabilized, re-militarizing country in a state of social chaos, with its democratic institutions in peril and a future rapidly clouding up.
Another Bush Administration success story. Their foreign policy incompetence seems to be making the world a more dangerous place every day.
