I think the best way to criticize this would be for a candidate to offhandedly refer to "Bush's color wheel of fear and terror, or whatever he calls it."
Compare that with this sentence by columnist Dave Addis at The Virginian-Pilot on December 31:
One of the frustrating things about watching the Official Tom Ridge Color Wheel of Terror swing back and forth from yellow to orange is that we never know quite what we're supposed to do about it.
Do you think the offhand reference to "the Official Tom Ridge Color Wheel of Terror" is suspiciously close to the suggested offhand reference to "Bush's color wheel of fear and terror," especially given that my comment likely came only about a half-day before this column's deadline?
