The Vermont House has just voted to override the Governor's veto by a vote of 100-49 and thereby extend marriage equality to all of those who wish to marry a consenting, regardless of the genders of either individual. For the first time, a state has extended marriage equality by a legislature, without being directed to do so by a court.
I listened to the audio. The pronounciations of "yes" were firm and the pronunciations of "no" were softer. Mostly, you could tell who was proud of their vote and knew they were doing right and who knew they were doing wrong and were not overly enthusiastic with what they were doing.
