From the who the hell cares what you think department, a new book by retiring turncoat Senator Zell(out) Miller is discussed in Political Wire:
Sen. Zell Miller "sharply criticizes national Democratic leaders for allegedly pushing the party to the left and writing off the South in a new autobiography that sheds the brightest light to date on the Georgia Democrat's political thinking," Roll Call's Mark Preston reports.
"Miller uses the book to urge party leaders to be receptive to ideas promoted by people other than Washington's powerful liberal interest groups and union heads. But in doing so, he offers a harsh assessment of Democratic election prospects in 2004, and suggests the current field of candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination has little chance of winning next year."
This man stood by while his colleague, the good, honorable and decent Senator Max Cleland, was crucified by the Bush Administration, morphed into Osama bin Laden, and dragged through the mud. He watched as a decorated triple amputee veteran had his patriotism questioned and as the Georgia Republican Party seized the Confederate Flag issue and brought the racists out of the woods to defeat the Governor he once considered a friend.
Senator Miller's response? If we don't want to lose again, we should be nicer to these people and stop challenging them.
Screw you, Zell. You make Alabama Senator Shelby (Traitor-Alabama) look like a moderate. If by "writing off the South" you mean we lose retrograde jackasses like you to whom party means nothing but a feeding hand to bite, then good riddance.
Now go retire. While you're retired, why don't you saunter over to Plains and sit in on a Sunday School class or two. Maybe you can learn something about helping others. You wasted your chance in office, and now you're going out an embittered old coot.
If you are replaced by a Republican, the nation will know no difference.
