...And, in that spirit, we’re going to start a two-way dialogue. There’s a gigantic chasm between the progressive grassroots and the people we’ve sent to DC, and I’m spending all of my time trying to build a bridge across it.
So we’ll start with a baby step - a prototype to begin the working relationship. Tomorrow evening, members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus – the self-identified progressives in the U.S. House of Representatives – are going to go on live TV to answer questions you submit about healthcare reform. You can watch on C-SPAN or via YouTube once I’ve captured and uploaded the videos. What I need is for you to ask (or vote on) questions at http://feedback.progressivecongress.org . Straight up old-fashioned democratic dialogue, no strings attached.
The topic of the day will be healthcare reform, because the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are in negotiating with House leadership about it this morning, and it’s likely to take shape in the next two weeks or so. If you have an opinion, a question (even a loaded one!), or a point you’d like to make – now is the time.
(PS - I've really missed y'all...)
