I guess the answer is yes, but why?

I was going through the crazy sites today because maybe it is just the crazy in me, but I like to keep see what the other crazies are doing.
I found this on a freeper site and I was just astonished that it first published on Daily Kos today.
Just a little something from the original diary
It’s a blessing that the next time Prop 8 is put to a vote with the people of California, it won’t share the ballot with the historic "Obama Election" and Black and Hispanic turnout will be lower, despite the pro-Prop 8 rallies sure to be organized again by community and church leaders. We can again expect Mormon money to pour into pro-8 ads and, next time around, this will be the biggest factor in a Prop 8 re-vote. We must prepare now to counter the Mormon ad machine with our own messages to kill the abomination that is Prop 8.

Just a few quotes from freepers,
Well I guess Liberals have finally chosen their KEY group: it’s not latinos (thrown under the bus), it’s not women (really thrown under the bus), it’s not blacks (really, really, really thrown under the bus for years..they are so passe): It’s GAYS!
Seems like Frankie Teardrop got hammered pretty hard by his fellow socialists.
I guess we have to have a hierarchy of victim classes. Apparently homosexuals beat hispanics and blacks.
Maybe there’s a chart of political correctness somewhere?
I did not see this diary when I checked Daily Kos today but when I read the dairy via the freeper site I just could not believe that it was actually posted on Daily Kos. I know many different views are welcomed here but looking at this diary I believe it crossed the line and from some of the comments I read, some of you believe the same thing.
This was also a comment on the diary
I rec'ed it because (0+ / 0-)
like it or not the writter is correct. The way to repeal prop 8 in the short term would be to raise tons of money and try to lower the turnout for groups that will vote against such a repeal. I'm not advocating disenfranchizing any voters. That's not the only way to reduce turn out of opponents in an election. Another is plan the timing of the vote correctly, dispirting the opponent's base, etc.
It's clear that religous people are (generally speaking) the opponenents of any possible repeal effort. Blacks are very religious (again, generally). So raising a ton of money and timing the election (if possible) to reduce the interest and turnout of religous voters (including blacks) is clearly a good strategy for success.
I'm sorry that so many people seem to think it's inappropriate to point out that its a well known statistic that blacks tend to be more homophobic and anti gay equality than whites. I'm not making an ethical, racial or moral judgement, just a statistical one. The reasons why have to do with lower education levels, lower income levels and higher levels of religousness amoung african americans than amoung whites (because of the historical legacy of racial discrimination). Those same factors also tend to increase homophobia in white populations as well.
Increased AA turnout in the last election certainly increased the number of voters that voted yes on Prop 8. Probably not by the 2% it passed by, but certainly by a substantial amount. Without that higher AA turnout the results would have been measureably closer on prop 8. Likewise, lower than normal AA turnout might have pushed prop 8 to failure.
If there is any hard data to show this is incorrect, I'd like to see it.

Hoping that Blacks and Latinos turnout in low voting numbers is not the way to win anything.
(Update) Frankie Teardrop is back with a post on Sotomayor
