I was watching the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He had a rerun of his show after Governor Perry of Texas made his remark about Texas Secession. Unlike Gov Perry, I did pay attention in American History class and I am well aware that the issue of Secession was kind of settled by the Civil War and Texas was on the wrong side.
I got to wondering if it is not possible for a State to declare secession, is it however possible for the states to agree to let a regions of the county go.
So I Googled it and came up with this on Wikipedia;
.......The United States Supreme Court ruled in Texas v. White that while the union was "perpetual" and that secession ordinances were "absolutely null," membership nevertheless could be revoked "through revolution, or through consent of the States."
The lose of Texas would have some good and some bad effects. I am just posing the question. Would it be possible for the majority of states to vote and come to an agreement with Texas to separate? I for one would not be completely opposed to the separation over irreconcilable differences, unfortunately I don’t believe Texas is the homogeneous state that many in the GOP would have people believe.
