I'm a big fan of Ask Slashdot? so I figured I might as well try my hand at it here :) So here's my question for the DKos community: what's the case FOR Hillary in '08?
I've been a bit distracted by the Clinton Library opening - it's just something fascinating to me. I still really feel connected to Bill Clinton's presidency - it was almost a golden era. Even my horrible sense of betrayal for his lying about Lewinsky is part of my attachment to that period. So I have to confess to some guilty anticipation of a Hillary run, purely an emotional response.
Lets get rational, though. Why would she be qualified? What has she achieved? What's a better reason to carry her flag other than "it's her turn" and "she's a woman" ?
I'm well aware of the arguments why she should NOT run (too divisive, Hillarycare, easily demonized). But these are negative perspectives that will no doubt be revisited and refought many times.
I am looking for a POSITIVE assessment. And if one can't be formulated on the merits, then that's the most damning negative argument of all.
Any ideas?
