The petition signature file is being checked for duplicates or trolls I may have missed when I was approving them. Then tomorrow it will be overnight mailed to TX (oh, the irony of that!) for delivery to Governor Dean at the DemFest this weekend. My understanding is that Jim Dean will present it when he introduces the Governor. I'll try to find out the time and post it here.
I will do a petition delivery diary tomorrow and post the final signature #'s that will be sent to the Governor.
more below the fold
Even though I posted a notice above the petition that the petition is closed to new signatures and used the administrative function to "close" it, people are still signing it and they are showing up as pending approval. Depending on how many those are tonight, they may still be able to be included before it goes to the Governor.
There is some activity around getting the petition delivered to congress. It probably won't happen until next week. So, I could reopen the petition for more signatures tomorrow. It would take a couple of days, so says the info from the site (although, since the signature links are still active and signatures are still showing as pending approval I don't understand what the "close" function I activated really did anyhow).
So, I'm going to try my hand at another poll. (I'm sure the people who saw my first one, on Friday I think, are probably grabbing their heads and screaming, 'Oh no! Don't screw this one up as badly as you did the first one!')
If I do reopen it, I will not be posting the numbers as frequently. In tomorrow's diary I will be able to tell you from the final numbers related to this batch what the rejection rate has been so you could look at the numbers given at the site and do your own quick calculation.
So, what do you think? Take the poll.
