The Kerry campaign raised $47.2 million in July. On July 21 the campaign repaid $6,387,965 to Kerry for his earlier loans in December and January. The committee paid $127,102 in interest payments and $16,905 in other loan cost payments.
More info is available at the Political Money Line Presidential Races page, with Kerry/Edwards showing cash at close of July of $72,059,865.
Looking at the numbers for Bush and Kerry, it appears the Republican trumpeting of their money advantage was another BushCo use of faith-based intelligence - it's down to $30.1 million, and after the whirlwind final fundraising push before the Democratic convention, it may be gone entirely. The money gap existed only in their dearest wishes.
Maybe that's why they're crying foul over 527s.
