http://www.sorrynorwaydenmark.com/ site with apologies for the recent embassy burnings and other destruction over the publication of the Mohammed cartoons. Points they make are that the media's amplifying only the extremists, that the cartoons are insulting and should still be allowed to be published, boycotts and non-violent protests are reasonable, and violence isn't acceptable over this. In addition they point out that the Scandinavian countries have been helping the Palestinians.
Yeah I got it from the Freepers. They have been very fond in the past of making arguments that so called Moderate Muslims would never condemn terrorism.

The Freepers don't seem to be that impressed.
This is an apology that explains other issues. Every Muslim I have ever met has been extremely concerned with the Palestinians, and a lot of nonreligious leftists are also concerned. And these apologisers are still offended by the cartoons, and I agree this goes beyond simply drawing Mohammed to break a visual taboo. Especially the one of Mohammed with a bomb on his head. Haven't spoken with any Muslims that supported the violence over this, including non-US Muslims I talked to.
Cui bono? This is providing a casus belli for US war on Iran, maybe also Syria and Lebanon. It also allows political leaders everywhere to distract from domestic problems. And it seems to be unifying Western democracies that were bitterly arguing not so long ago. So I'll keep watching to see who wants to continue fanning the flames.
