Harpers Magazine on the 19th printed a article about unrest inside the CIA. Just like the current revolt by retired Generals, CIA workers are starting to see the writing on the wall.
An ex-senior agency officer who keeps in contact with his former peers told me that there is a "a big swing" in anti-Bush sentiment at Langley. "I've been stunned by what I'm hearing," he said. "There are people who fear that indictments and subpoenas could be coming down, and they don't want to get caught up in it."
Bushs loyalty has never extended those lower on the rungs of the ladder. These people know what the word "Scapegoat" means, and they also know when someone (a Dem) takes over the uh huh is gonna hit the fan. More of the story below.
This article written by Ken Silverstein has a whole lot more to say for a short piece. There are tidbits about Rendition, Torture, Even the NYC Bar Assoc., has a few things to say. There is a link to the 110 page report, "Human Rights Standards Applicable to the United States' Interrogation of Detainees," which is a pretty remarkable read in it's self. It is a pdf. file tho. The report pretty much puts to bed Rummys claims that any torture was done by a few low ranking people.
I love this next line, it speaks volumes to me. This will be the last quote because it is a short piece, so go read it yourself.
http://www.harpers.org/... This former senior officer said there "seems to be a quiet conspiracy by rational people" at the agency to avoid involvement in some of the particularly nasty tactics being employed by the administration, especially "renditions"
