It seems the worm is finally starting to turn, but as it does, it is important for us to document the downfall and save it for later.
I am a bit of a C-Span radio junkie, and one of my favorite things to listen to is the re-broadcast of Blair addressing Parlement. A normal back and forth goes something like this.
Conservative: Mr. Prime Minister, your policy on (insert topic here) does not seem to be working.
Blair: Well if you will recall, under the Conservative government (quote statistic of horrible performance), so kiss my ass.
I'm paraphrasing, but the jist is there. We have a chance to take this momementum and move the pedulum back where it belongs. But to do so, we have to keep reminding everyone how incompetant they are. We let Reagan be deified, despite running up record deficts and plunging us into the first Bush recession. We can't let them revise history this time. It is important we take notes, and make people remember how things are with "Conservative Leadership".
We have keep the attack on them, and make sure we take notes so when we are trying to clean up the mess they have made when we take power back, we can make sure they understand how we got into this mess. We can't let them martyr their leaders. Even when "Deep Throat" came out, Nixon apologists filled the air waves.
Make no mistake, we are still behind. We don't either house of congress, the White House, or the Supreme Court. But when we do, let us not "Move on" or find a middle ground. Let us follow Blair's example and through investigations not let them revise history.
When we are able, let us dig through the dirt and bring each piece to the surface so that we never forget, and never permit another administration to bring us down so far, so quickly, and with so little resistance, again.
