I'll post another KBR story tomorrow. Today I've been thinking about Galveston and Houston, what with Rita bearing down. I have a niece who lives in Houston with her husband and two young daughters. They've already left.
Of course, another pending natural disaster continues to expose the criminal mismanagment of this administration and Big Oil specifically, conservatives and Big Business in general. My wife talked to an acquaintance in Galveston just two hours ago. She and her husband are staying because they can't get out. She said that the roads out of Galveston are blocked by cars that have run out of gas, because there's no gas! Galveston. Gulf Coast. Texas. Oil. Oil refineries. And no gas. If it didn't scare the shit out of you, it would seem like some absurdist play.
I'll bet since Halliburton is just up the road, they have already submitted their no-bid contracts. If I didn't have a conscience, I'd certainly be buying their stock.
If you're religious, say a prayer; if not, keep your fingers crossed.
