I have never written a diary before on dkos so forgive me if I am not doing this quite right. I was thinking about a short gesture that we could all do to honor the great Health Care advocate that we lost yesterday.
Follow me over the fold...
Ted Kennedy was a humble man and I can imagine him up there looking down on all of us saying "get back to work and stop all this fuss over me". But that is extremely hard to do considering the impact that he has had on all our lives. Title 9, Championing Civil Rights, Fighting for a fare minimum wage, Ensuring High Quality Education for all and most especially his ongoing fight for Quality Affordable Health Care for every citizen of these United States.
Please join me in sending a message to the Senate by emailing or faxing everyone on the Senate Finance Committee with a simple note that reads: "In lieu of flowers just pass health care". I heard Brian Williams say this morning on NBC that he had already received an email that stated this. I thought what better way to honor Senator Kennedy but to start an "In lieu of" campaign in his honor. The Senate Finance Committe can be reached here:http://finance.senate.gov/sitepages/committee.htm
