Something very interesting on going on over at Little Green Footballs. LGF's owner Charles Johnson is making a stand for sanity and science inside the Right Wing. He has taken on the Birthers who he calls Nirthers (Johnson bans Bithers). LGF also rails against Glenn Beck, Creationists, and Senator Jimmy Inhofe's climate change denial nonsense.
Charles Johnson writes:
I Win!
Looks like I’ve replaced Andrew Sullivan as the most hated blogger, which is quite an accomplishment. I’d like to thank the wonderful folks who voted me the sixth most despised "right wing" figure
Fighting for sanity on the Right looks like an impossible fight at a time when most of the saner Republican politicians are keeping their heads down while mumbling vague support for the crazies. Will these conflicts be papered over for the sake of unity going into the 2010 elections? It doesn't look that way right now.

Don't think LGF has transformed itself into a moderate blog. LGF remains staunchly hard right in its paranoid NeoCon world view, and LGF has an islamophobic streak with frequent attacks meant to demonize Islam.
Will LGF succeed in its fight for the Republican Party's direction for the future? Right now they are getting their butt kicked by the nutballs in charge of the tea party movement that is dragging a leaderless, and rudderless Republican Party along with them. However LGF and like minded conservatives may be planting the seeds for a reborn rational conservatism, as the Republican elephant is stampeded toward an electoral cliff by the nutball Religious Right.
Will LGF succeed? I don't know. Insanity from extremists is never a good thing for America.
