One thing that is definitely different under this new scoop system -- this site is a lot more "sticky". With so many knobs to twiddle and toys to try out, I am spending easily twice as much time here as I used to.
That's good, and it's also bad. Quite aside from the fact that I don't have the extra time to spend, that is! A community is nice, it's fun to watch it coalescing. But I find I'm spending less time reading other blogs, which means I'm not getting the other points of view as much as I used to.
I suppose I could allow myself to obsess, to become a Kos-ite and little else, drawn back to check on the ratings of all my posts, and so forth. That would be pathetic, especially considering that my posting rate is so low-volume, most people probably don't even know I'm here.
I wonder how my response, multiplied, will end up affecting the traffic here over the long term?
