We discussed some new climate change data and past shenanigans this last weekend on Sunday Kos. Here's another interesting item: you may not recognize the name, but Dr. Tom Borreli has made himself a nice living lately smearing climate scientists and cheering on pollution. Via DesmogBlog, who has great rundown, we find this:
"It's outrageous that economic stimulus money is being used to support research conducted by Michael Mann ... Penn State should immediately return these funds to the U.S. Treasury," said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center's Free ....
Now, you youngins might not believe it, but it wasn't that long ago when presumably conservative God fear'n business men would proudly stand up in court, their sweaty palms on the Holy Bible, and argue under sacred oath there's no scientific evidence that smoking causes cardio-pulmonary disease or state that nicotine is not addictive. Fortunately we have video records.
The video is from 1994. And who was it that was paid to run the Phillip Morris Corporate Scientific Affairs Department of Misinformation in the 90s? Why yes, that would be the same Dr. Tom Borelli, the former tobacco shill now criticizing climate scientists for being 'biased' by funding. Double standard, no problem -- as long as the price is right.
