Hey y'all. I was cruising through the Intranets and came upon this
article in GNN, one of the sites that initially piqued my curiosity about blogs and thier possibilities.
Anyways, I read this article and it brought up some questions in my mind....
I, being a non-savy type, don't have a full grip of Gore Vidal's penchant for history, biases, or record on honesty, like does this guy have a bone to pick with Gore, or what?
Then, there is that sinking feeling, that memory of being 20 during the 2000 elections and thinking Gore was just another pasty faced spineless Corporate Dem Doormat, still leaps and bounds above his opponent, The Jesus Wonder Monkey, but still lacking nonetheless.
Now, after these years of discontenet (and discontent, my friends is putting it lightly)I feel myself being excited by having the New Gore, mellow, loose, confident and righteous, being pushed by the Roots into a Presidential run.
But reading this article reminded me of his questionable record on various issues, environmental and social, ones we need to face up to and air out, to see if we are all getting caught up in the movie, and its subject, which is easy to do when the topic of Global Warming is so so so important.
Maybe its just a hit piece by a disgruntled journo, maybe my political cynicism is just kicking in, or maybe Al Gore has some past actions to answer for.
Or maybe you guys, being all informed and opinionated and shit, can help a brother out to gain some more perspective on his history, and what it really means..
