The DNC has put up a
webpage containing reader-submitted stories about their individual lives since Bush became President. The stories are organized by state, so you can read the response of someone who might be your neighbor, or can take a trip out to the Furthest Reaches and find out what's transpired out there.
What's struck me is how similiar these accounts are. People in my home state of Maryland share the concerns of those in Alabama, Oregon, Colorado, and North Dakota:
Unemployment
Rising health-care costs
Small decrease in Federal taxes resulting in large increase in State taxes
Rising costs of tuition
Decreased quality of life
What's happening on your doorstep is happening across the country.
