In 1991, career politician Daniel Webster introduced HB 593, which would have banned happy hours and drinking games in all bars in Florida. Yes, believe it or not, Daniel Webster wants to prohibit happy hour.
That's very American Taliban of Webster, who isn't trying to score votes in Utah.
And then there's his effort to crush the senior center bingo cartel.
In 2003, Webster was one of three Senators to oppose SB 664, which would
allow bingo games at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care centers, retirement communities, and housing for the elderly.
In 2004, Webster was one of only five Senators to vote against HB 187, which would have allowed instant pull-tab bingo at church halls and veterans posts that already have regular bingo.
