I'm still too young to vote, sadly, but if I could, I'd be at the polls as soon as they open, every single election. Sadly, most Americans are probably not going to go to the polls this year, and those who are tend to support candidates who are going to destroy the country. If I'm not already disillusioned, This article, made me even more disillusioned. So, please, go vote. Do it for the next generation.
Why should you vote? After all, Obama has either screwed you over, if you're a member of the LGBTQ community, has not done enough if you are poor/a kid, or couldn't get anything passed or done, if you are a voting Democrat. It serves him right to lose his majority/your vote won't make a difference/the Democrats are just in the pocket of Wall Street or are like Clinton, or whatever. While I do think that losing a majority in the House will help Democrats, since the government will get shut down and everyone can hate the Republicans, I don't really want my speaker to be someone the same color as a carrot. And your vote will make a difference. If everyone thinks their vote won't change anything, then nobody will vote. And while Obama hasn't been perfect, he's been a lot better than Bush. Think of it as the lesser of two evils. The Democrats who may have screwed up some, or the Tea Party. Who do you want running our country?
Why should you vote? You should vote to save the rights of minorities, women, kids, those who are difference. Because, seriously, while the Tea Party is all about limiting government, they are more than happy to give the government enough power to stick their noses in our sex lives, religion, and what we do with our body. How many Tea Party candidates support the ERA and ending DADT/DOMA? Can you name one who is pro-choice? What about those who want to cut the DoE and affirmative action programs in the inner city? Do you really want them in power?
Why should you vote? You should vote to protect those most at risk, the poor in America. While Republicans are all anti elite and "come out of nowhere", which is utter BS, they really don't want to help poor people. Why else are they for cutting "wasteful" programs, like welfare, Medicaid, and homeless shelters?
Why should you vote? You should vote to make sure there is a more stable future for your kids. Do you like world peace, enough food, and clean air? So do most, not all, but most Democratic candidates. Well, at least more Democrats like that stuff than Republicans.
Why should you vote? You should vote to help keep this country in the hands of the party of hope and change, not no. You should vote to show up Sarah Palin, Dubya, Rummy, Paul, Liberman, to prove that we do love our country. You should vote because it's the right thing to do.
