Dr. Ami Bera, as many are becoming aware, is one of the few Dems out there with a real chance to pull off the red to blue transformation as he goes against serial slimeball Dan Lungren. Quarter after quarter after quarter Bera has out-raised Lungren, so much so that Karl Rove saw fit for his shadowy PAC to invest over $600,000 into ads for Lungren.
Now he has been caught outright lying to seniors about his desire to privatize Social Security and Dr. Bera is not letting off the hook...
Transcript:
DAN LUNGREN speaking to a group of Senior Citizens.
Questioner: I'm concerned, as are a lot of people here, of the threat of privatization of social security. Would you please explain your position because I believe at one point you had advocated it.
LUNGREN: Well thank you very much. Well obviously, this is the Democratic Party's (laughs...unintelligible). Look, we never talked about privatization of Social Security. I don't know anybody talking...

(CUT TO C-SPAN coverage of John McCain)
McCain: Without privatization, I don't see how you can possibly over time make sure that young Americans are able uh to receive Social Security benefits.
(CUT TO LUNGREN)

Paid for Bera for Congress
From a radio interview just today (source: Bera Press release):
In a live radio debate between Dr. Ami Bera and Dan Lungren, the Congressman reiterated his plans to privatize Social Security, and then challenged Dr. Bera to find one instance where he declared support for privatization, stating, "I would challenge Dr. Bera to give one instance of where I’ve ever said I would privatize Social Security, it does not exist."
It is vital that we GOTV in CA-03, because this is one district where we can actually create a red to blue. It is important for the country and for our district, we need a compassionate, intelligent fighter for US.
