Here goes:
My biggest issue about the NSA spying program is the justification for this that the Bush administration has presented. The Attorney General stated that in a time of war, the President's authority is essentially unlimited. Other administration officials have stated that this "different kind of war" we're in could last for decades.
Is there any American out there willing to accept the idea of an all-powerful executive running our nation for the rest of our adult lives?
America cannot let this precedent stand. We therefore cannot let this President stand. Impeach Mr. Bush now.
The
exact same reasoning that justifies this program could also be used to justify suspending the 2006 elections...after all, a Democratic victory in the House could trigger investigations, which could expose other secret programs, which could aid "the enemy" even more.
...okay. Anyone else want to try?
