Please educate me, I guess I'm very naive.
I can't for the life of me see how a Democratic fillibuster of Alito is a losing issue. Obstructionism? Why not have the guts to stand up for what a majority of Americans believe in, such as privacy rights, etc.?
Sure, to the normal citizen Alito looks like a nice man and his poll numbers are probably pretty high. Who gives a damn about that? Why not educate the voters to the point that this is a man whose world view is seriously out of whack with most Americans?
Why not shout from the rooftops, dear senators, that George Bush has BROKEN THE LAW AND LIED ABOUT IT AND SHOULD BE IMPEACHED?
I'd rather be stand for principle than win. I'll reward candidates who stand up for people over Imperial Presidencies. Sometimes I really doubt that the Donkeys have it in 'em.
I voted for Ralph Nader once, and I'm certainly free to vote (or at least push the button- which reminds me of another thing Democrats should be scrappin' about) for his kind again.
somebody say something inspiring, i'm on the edge here
