Is everybody just completely stunned, or what?
After years of speculation, endless diaries on countless forums about who might have been involved in the leak, and why, and what could possibily be behind it, finally Bush himself comes out and basically says "yeah, I did it. So what? Whatchyou gonna do?"
What ARE we gonna do about it?
Like Ben Affleck said the other night on Bill Maher, this is the kind of thing they hang you for. I know the meaning of the word has been diluted by the hatemongeringHannities of the world, but this is treason we're talking about.
More after the speed bump
It's treason. No getting around it.
I've always said that Bush could eat a live baby on the 50 yard line of the Superbowl on live national television and nobody would do anything, and in fact the corporate media would somehow figure out a way to describe eating a live baby as "good for the country".
We are now, for all intents and purposes, at that point.
Are we all just stunned into silence right now?
Are we all just waiting for the official word to come out? (Since, after all, Bush hasn't admitted the one detail of actually NAMING Valerie Plame -- yeah, like he'd leave out that one little detail while "declassifying" everything else -- HA!)
I feel like we're at one of those moments in a Warner Brothers cartoon, where the stick of dynamite with the long, long fuse has finally burned down right up to the dynamite itself and everybody's expecting it to go off -- and it doesn't go off.
So I guess this diary is more a question than anything else -- as in "What's next?"
I don't see anybody answering that question yet.
