These numbers should be ingrained into the skull of every Democratic political operative in Washington, DC -- especially the ones who work in the White House:
Those numbers aren't even close -- it's not just that 53% support the House-passed tax cut plan (the plan that was originally proposed by President Obama, although he's now abandoned it), it's that three in four Americans oppose the GOP plan to give budget-busting tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans.
With numbers like this, it wouldn't just be a moral failure to give up without really fighting, it would be a political sin. Even at this stage of the process, the House-passed Obama tax plan can still prevail. The only question is whether the president will find the courage to stand up to Republican bullying.
