Its good to hear so many high profile Democrats tell the truth about where our victory will come from - hard work in the field and throughout Florida's many diverse communities.
More after the flip...
That's right, it won't be by just leaning to one end of the political spectrum or the other, it won't be using a particular form of electoral math - it will be through hard work.
As I have said a billion times, the key to winning locally is by using our local Democratic parties - DECs. Right now, most DECs are in terrible shape and need major overhauls if they're going to be useful in 2006.
I hate to put a damper on such an awesome convention, but if DECs aren't rebuilt or reformed - come election time it will be 100Xs harder to organize Florida's communities to vote for Democrats across the board.
There will no doubt be discontent in parts of Florida in 2006 due to the GOPs many problems, but what swing voters really need to hear are assurances from their neighbors and friends that voting Democrat is the right way to go. Media buys, letters to the editor, lawn signs, and bumper stickers are nothing compared to that one-to-one contact between neighbors and friends.
In the words of FDP Chairwoman Karen Thurman, "Let's go out, organize, and give 'em hell!"
