The democrats need a strong and coherent response to the news that Saddam has been captures.

One suggestion is that--
Well it good news that Saddam Hussein has finally been found and captured. The troops have done an amazing job in accomplishing this. Saddam Hussein was a tyrannical dictator and needs to be put on trial for all of his crimes.
However this changes nothing with our war against terrorism. Saddam Hussein and Iraq had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks upon us on 9/11. Saddam Hussein did not possess WMD which posed an imminent threat against the United States. Im glad that President Bush has found Saddam, maybe one day he'll get a Nobel Peace Prize for it. But the war in Iraq is a nation building exercise, this has nothing to do with defending the national security of Americans. Although it is tremendous that we are attempting to liberate the Iraqi people, I fear that we have substanstially turned our focus away from what our primary concern right now which is fighting the the terrorist who attacked us on 9/11. We need to keep our eye on the ball.

We need to emphasize the fact that this Iraq War has nothing to do with the fight against terrorism and is a nation building war. Saddam and Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11. And this contradicts Bush's pledge in the 2000 debates not to engage in nation building.
