It's become a standard joke on the right to ask "do you feel stimulated"? The implication is that the stimulus package is such an obvious failure that just a mention of it is worth a few self-satisfied snickers. But if this is a failure, what would success look like?
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed one year ago. This lovely chart is based on one prepared by Karina Newton on Nancy Pelosi's blog, and this version is available from Organizing for America. They have plenty of additional information on the effects of the stimulus bill.
Obviously, just because the rate of job loss has been rolled back, it doesn't mean that everyone is back to work. Repairing the damage done under Republican control won't happen overnight -- but it's hard to imagine that anyone would view this as less than a success.
