Is George the Lesser the worst president America has ever had?
Historians broadly agree that James Buchanan and Warren Harding are just about the bottom of the Presidential Barrel. How does Dear Leader compare to those two distinguished gentlemen?
James Buchanan, was the fifteenth President, serving from 1857-1861. He failed to manage the growing tensions that ultimately led to the Civil War. He even took the position that there was nothing the Federal government could legally do to force a State to remain in the Union.

Warren Harding, the 29th (1921-1923) President, specialized in good old crony corruption:
Upon winning the election, he placed many of his old allies in prominent political positions. Known as the "Ohio Gang," few of them showed any real talent and some actually used their new powers to rob the government. Corruption was rampant throughout Harding's administration, though it is uncertain how much Harding actually knew about his friends' activities. One of the most famous scandals of the time was the Teapot Dome scandal, which shook the nation for many years after Harding's death. The scandal involved Secretary of the Interior Albert B. Fall, who was eventually convicted of renting public oil fields to private concerns in exchange for personal loans. In 1931 Fall became the first member of Cabinet to be sent to prison.

So, how does Duhbya rate against this competition?
Is he more incompetent than Buchanan? The country is deeply divided over Bush, but actual rupture of the country is still unimaginable. So the result of Bush's incompetence is not likely to eclipse the Civil War. But really, Buchanan was trying to achieve a negotiated solution to the question of slavery, a strategy that had worked up to that point.
Is Duhbya more corrupt than Harding? No doubt. Harding's scandals are penny-ante crap that Bush tops every day.
But in a way, Bush is in a category by himself.
There's no other President that has invaded, conquered, and occupied another country by mistake.
There's no other President who has commited our virtually our entire armed forces into an inextricable situation. (Or are there, any thoughts?)
No President has lost more American jobs, and no other President has lost more jobs since Herber Hoover.
Bush is the worst fiscal manager in American history. Reagan made some nervous with a large one-year deficit -- Bush's deficits are that large, year after year, forever.
And so on. And so on.
I think George Bush the Lesser has a very good chance of being ranked among the worst in history, if not the very worst.
