In the wake of Karl Rove's ugly spinmeistering a.k.a. attempting to distract the public from the Downing Street Minutes, citizens from Tampa Bay took to the streets again to send a clear message that Rove's messages of mass distraction aren't working.
It might have been pouring rain; but that didn't keep us in the SAC from getting out at Patriots' Corner for a good cause.
On June 23rd, more than 30 people gathered at Patriots' Corner again on the intersection of Bayshore and Bay-to-Bay in Tampa to continue our quest for the truth about the Downing Street Minutes and the war in Iraq. Our rally included returning protestors from Code Pink, DFA, and Veterans for Peace; but also welcomed a host of new and returning ralliers from St. Pete for Peace.
**Many kudos** to St. Pete for Peace for braving the rain, driving all the way out to Tampa, and bringing their amazing banners that were sure to make an impact with the people driving by (pictures below). The procession of ralliers who carried the incredibly moving statements of peace and activism was simply humbling and beautiful to behold. THANKS TO ALL who came together, from both sides of the Bay, to take part in our latest call for peace, accountability, and TRUTH.
Joining these wonderful people and me at the rally were fellow KOSers Susan S, House, and thefos. The pictures of the rally I managed to take in the rain didn't do the beauty of this event justice; but this Web location displays them if you'd like to see them:
