As the health care debate raged on Capitol Hill just over a week ago, Lee Terry tipped his hand to a reporter about what he wants: a Republican Majority so he can "defund" and repeal health care.
What would de-funding health insurance reform mean for Nebraska's 2nd District? Click here to find out:
If Lee Terry gets his way and health insurance reform is de-funded, the Medicare "donut hole" will re-open and seniors will have to pay more for prescription drugs. Insurers will be allowed to rescind policies when they discover pre-existing conditions. Small businesses will lose tax credits to help afford insurance for their employees, and the uninsured will get no help.

While the bill isn't perfect, it makes important strides to improve access to affordable healthcare. As a cancer survivor and small business owner, I agree with Warren Buffett: the bill is far from perfect but is better than continuing with the status quo.
Rather than threatening to de-fund reform – and hurting small businesses, seniors, and middle class families struggling with skyrocketing premiums in the process – we need to make sure the bill works the way it has been advertised. Now it's time for Congress to turn to fixing the economy, getting our fiscal house in order, and restoring the economic and job growth the country so desperately needs.
In Congress, that's what I'll fight for.
Thanks,
Tom
