My first attempt at a diary.
Thanks for looking.
I am angry, but thrilled. Angry because the powers the be in PA are up to their old tricks. As you probably know, AG Corbett (who happens to be running for Governor on the R side) has joined the frivilous suits trying to hold back Health Care reform in PA.
The reason I am thrilled is because a Dem with spine is fighting back.
Please join me over the fold to meet him.
My friend and current PA State Representative Bryan Lentz (his diaries)
has served as an Airborne Ranger, Prosecutor, Platoon Leader, and State Representative. In each role, Bryan has stood up to corruption from any quarter, and has proven to be a courageous fighter.
Bryan’s courage in Iraq can’t be overemphasized (especially on this site), but this bravery is only the beginning. When he returned from Iraq and the mismanagement that plagued many government projects there, Bryan fought entrenched powers here at home. He took on a 13 term, gerrymandered incumbent Republican State Legislator. He knocking on thousands of constituent doors, wearing out three pairs of shoes, and garnered the support of voters of all parties. His election to the PA 161st seat is this first time in the history of Pennsylvania that a Democrat has represented my district!
During his time in Harrisburg, Bryan had the guts to take on party leadership on both sides of the aisle when he felt it was needed. The constituents in the district voted to return him with a higher plurality for a second term.
Bryan is an amazing, dedicated and effective leader. He was described to me by a colleague as "the conscience of our caucus", because of how he makes honorable proposals, and explains them in a way that others are willing to sign on.
Please take a moment to view his cogent arguments against this frivolous suit, and consider joining me in helping him hold PA 07 for the Dems. Act Blue video link
