Howard Dean, despite being officially out of the nomination race, won the State of Vermont in yesterday's primary. Perhaps this will start a series of "One State Wonder" theories about him, but it actually leaves me wondering what might have happened if he had scored one or two early victories (and what if Vermont was first?) It appears that in winning Iowa, then New Hampshire, Kerry stole the limelight and the momentum and was then almost impossible to beat (even Edwards failed). Can there be any doubt about the significance of these two states at the beginning of the race?
My congratulations and kudos to John Kerry, and to John Edwards too for making a valiant effort (veep anyone?) Like it or not folks, we now have a nominee. Let's get on with the business of beating Bush in November.
