It's pretty incredible to evaluate how extremely liberal Dailykos members are in their views on the topic of illegal immigration. I personally don't buy into the non-sense spewed out there that states how illegal immigrants are benefiting the economy. You may not agree with the sentiment that illegal immigration is destroying America, but that doesn't make you a racist if you believe that corporate America's addiction to cheap labor screws everyone in the process. I really meant the government's reluctance to govern themselves and prosecute corporations for hiring illegals to criminally enhance their balance sheets.
If you believe that cheap labor enhances the progress of middle-class America then you are reading the wrong textbooks. In the world of economics there is an operational process when you create an economic good/service that delivers a financial benefit. In the case of criminal immigration, companies provide individuals below market wages/no benefits that forgoes their responsibility to contribute their share of fair taxes. Equally important in the process is that consumers need income to purchases these goods/service. If you're without income to purchase the most essential services (healthcare, education, foodstamps, welfare etc) you need the government to subsidize them for you. Ultimately, somebody has to pay for it in the end.
Let's do simple cost analysis based on the most accurate data publicly available. This information is from the LA-times--stating most active data made to the public.

Federal government has jurisdiction control of borders= nothing gets done
Illegal Cost-
Illegals in prison - 19,000 cost to state = 970 million fiscal year
Government pays in = 111 million to lower the cost to 859 million
859 million = .859 billion
859,000,000/19,000= 45,210.5263 per illegal in jail per year
Estimated Education cost (k-12 education)
4 billion paid mostly through state money and some property taxes
Illegal Immigrants on welfare = anchor babies(de-facto citizens of illegals)
Calworks = welfare benefits
190,000 kids = 500 million (non-partisan LA analyst office)
500,000,000/190,000 = $2631.5789 per birth to illegal citizen per fiscal year
+ 775,000,000 million (775 million) on Medical Healthcare Immigrants - Feds match the cost dollar to dollar.
Emergency services= $536 million (plus estimated 108 million for newborn delivery services not included into calculation since they are not considered illegal when born in America by an illegal immigrant.
Illegals Don't pay -- State/Property taxes most of the time which creates a massive deficit to the states deficit.
A key 2004 study done by the Federation for Immigration Reform - promoting stricter policies made these key findings
http://www.nctimes.com/...
**A basic 9 billion cost covering most variables in the equation. Their research showed a total net cost of 10.5 billion offset by 1.7 billion that pays some taxes (sales, income, property) to lower total overall cost.
Other costs part of the 10.5 billion
- 1,0022,000 children = 7,577 education cost per pupil = 7.7 billion
- 48,000 illegals in jail (different from the other number I had) = 1.4 billion 1,400,000,000/48,000= 29,166 per person. It's still fucking expensive no matter how many illegals in US jails.
-2,200,000,000 2.2 billion medical payments
1,900,000,000 1.9 billion food stamps for anchor babies of illegal immigrants
-1,4000,000,000 1.4 billion education
- 1.4 billion education cost
California Sales Tax

These numbers are FUCKING MINDBLOWING. YES ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION HAS A HUGE IMPACT ON THESE NUMBERS-- no wonder why people are leaving the state faster then they move back in.

California
At 8.25%, California has the highest state sales tax, which can total up to 10.75% with local sales tax included[26]. Sales and use taxes in the state of California are collected by a publicly elected tax commission. The statewide 8.25% is allocated as:[27]
* 8.25% - State
o 5.00% - State - General Fund
o 0.25% - State - Fiscal Recovery Fund
o 0.50% - State - Local Revenue Fund
o 0.50% - State - Local Public Safety Fund
o 1.00% - Uniform Local Tax
+ 0.25% - Local County - Transportation funds
+ 0.75% - Local City/County - Operational funds
Starting April 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010, unless an extension is passed, the state sales and use tax increased by 1% as a result of the 2008-2009 California budget crisis. The minimum sales tax statewide is 8.25%.[28][29]
Supplementary sales tax may be added (with voter approval) by cities, counties, service authorities, and various special districts (such as the Bay Area Rapid Transit district). The effect is that sales tax rates vary from 8.25% (in areas where no additional taxes are charged) to 10.75% (as of July 1, 2009, the city of South Gate and Pico Rivera increased their sales-tax rate to this level, the highest in California)[30]. For instance, the capital of Sacramento has a combined 8.75% sales tax rate, and the largest city of Los Angeles has a combined 9.75% sales tax rate[26].
END OF WIKI STORY.
In the end, this contributes to the massive budget deficit in the state of California. The reality in California is that the tax base is shrinking and people are leaving the state due to rising housing costs, taxes, awful education system, and illegal immigration. Was Pete Wilson and the 5million people (approx 59%) who endorsed proposition 187 in 1994 racist for supporting a ballot initiative that prevented illegal immigrants from receiving public services/welfare benefits?
The degree to which the race baiting was apparent in the comments section to my last post was sickening beyond belief. I have to admit that some of the individuals who posted comments to my previous posts are insane to interpret my view (that illegal immigration is a detriment to society) as racist. I will say it again, but we can't afford illegal immigration in this country. However, the Democrats in Congress will remain silent until after the elections to avoid an electoral beatdown come November. I will say it again it's not racist to say that we can't afford illegal immigration.
I do understand that many industries such as agriculture/construction/housing benefited from cheap labor, but there is no way in hell their illegal citizens creates a net positive for the economy!
Previous Posts--
I noticed how liberal the most active members of Daily Kos readers are on a daily basis. I am amazed by how individuals could interpret my diary from yesterday as racist literature. That's race baiting and pure bullshit to my ears. The daily kos readers need to wake up and realize that illegal immigration generates a net negative to our economy. I have a degree in Economics and research demonstrates that previously mentioned point 100%.
The reality is that I'm a fiscal conservative and strongly believe this country can't afford illegal immigration. The debate that I'm seeing is that the white corporate crowd got their bailout, how come the brown people can't get their amnesty bailout. This issue was probably the primary focus when Obama met with the Hispanic caucus prior to the historic HCR vote. Nobody on the outside knows what Obama promised them on Immigration when they work on that issue after the elections.

As a socially liberal Democrat, I understand why liberals, young people, and Hispanics support the notion that illegal immigrants should have access to public services. A USC/LA-Times poll from this past week showed that in California 47% of voters support the pre-mentioned statement while 45% support the opposite view. The reality is that most of America does not operate like California, and it's no secret that the illegal immigrant entitlement culture in that state has created massive corruption. Ultimately, this country can't afford the mass immigration migration from Mexico and various Latin American countries.
Furthermore, what is so fascinating about having this conversation with my Hispanic friends is that most of them are very sympathetic to illegal immigrants. (By the way I'm a white 26 year old guy in the northeast and my boyfriend of almost two years is a Hispanic graduate student at an ivy league institution-- interesting but true). However, they realize that congress will need to compromise with a very moderate approach on this crucial issue in order to get the wingnut crazies on both side of the aisle to vote yea. Even though many of my Hispanic friends feel that if low-income Blacks/Whites are on welfare, what's the difference if illegals get the same benefits. The reality again to them is America can't afford to change the rules for a group of individuals who are not legal citizens in the first place.
Ultimately, the Federal government has failed to act on this problem due to many issues and now cities across America are determining how to resolve this issue in-house. My home state of Connecticut is fascinating because New Haven, Connecticut (my former residence) created an id card program for illegals because the black gangs in town used the immigrants as ATM machines. (The black gangs pretty much targeted Hispanics and used violence as means to rob this group). On the other hand, Danbury Connecticut enacted a city ordinance that allows the local police to verify the citizenship of every individual who gets arrested within city limits. And if that person is here illegally then they get transferred to federal ice agents for deportation. No matter the approach you agree with the most, illegal immigration ultimately comes down to financial baiting at the forefront.
My personal view is that the MCcain/Kennedy immigration legislation that was in the Senate in the recent past is the way to go on this issue. Enforce a tax penalty for illegals and then go from there. Call it modified Amnesty, but that is the only solution to this problem. The far lefties and crazy wingnuts may disagree so hopefully over time they will come back to reality. Thankfully Obama understands how dealmaker in these type of situations even though Republicans pulled this shit for years with death ears. Now that they are out of power they are claiming Obama is a radical socialist. In the end, both parties are extensions of a corporate agenda. The only difference is the Democrats know how to spread the wealth a little bit more.
My post that was considered racist by some ultra liberal members.
The reality of the situation is that the Mexican/Latin America immigration epidemic is permanently destroying the economic conditions in America. This maturing problem is politically chaotic and has culminated in turning regions with high rates of illegal citizens into welfare domains. Currently, this rampant migration has turned inner cities across America, especially in south-western regions, and those in California into a socio-economic albatross that lacks a targeted financial recovery for low-income Hispanics.
There are many regions facing the onslaught of illegal immigration, but California is the poster-child for this monstrous burden. The total financial cost for illegal immigrants in that state by many reports exceeds 1 billion dollars. Key public/private services such as education, police/fire departments, town/city maintenance, public safety officials, and healthcare delivery services are increasingly being strained in a financially based operational manner that is unsustainable. America can't support, nor afford illegal immigration because it continues to have a devastating impact to taxpayers. Without a doubt, California is a welfare state that has mismanaged their expenses by giving up to 20%-30% of it's welfare funds to illegal citizens. This has definitely contributed to the highly negative perception of California where illegal citizens take in more then they give back to the community.
Currently, Los Angeles county is facing its' own crisis where the mayor of Los Angeles is in the midst of closing city departments two days a week. I ask myself how do these budget shortfalls get created---According to the city's Supervisor -- Michael D' Antonovich-- 1 in 15 Californian's is an illegal immigrant. Furthermore, his office estimates that Los Angeles county pays more then 500 million for healthcare services, 250 million per year for criminal expenses, 264 million for Calworks payments, and 312 million in food stamps for illegal immigratns. That totals over 1 billion and his office hasn't estimated the cost on education. Are you fucking kidding me? This is what happens when both the Mexican and American governments are equally corrupt and are in bed with big-business. (Did I forget to mention the richest man in the world is a Mexican and he's Missing in Action)...What a douchebag.
Ultimately, without comprehensive immigration reform that targets my bullets points focusing on the problem in this order-- 1) provides jail-time penalties for employers who hire undocumented workers 2) American government work hard to push for a stable Mexican economy that privatizes oil-- creates jobs/healthcare services in Mexico border areas 3) Requires illegals to pay fines for owed taxes (re-apply for citizenship based on new amnesty standards) and 4) increased cooperation from the super-corrupt Mexican government/police to reform border control/drug-narcotics trafficking) 5) Enables local United States police (in warranted areas) to check the immigration status through a national database of all arrested individuals(287(g)program infamously enacted in Prince William country Virginia-- that gives the power to identify, investigate, and detain illegal immigrants) 6) A national Identification card for all Americans citizenship status) then the situation remains fucked on the macro level until the United States federal government acts loudly with bold legislation.
Then the next question becomes how do we enact Amnesty legislation similar to the 1986 act--the last time Congress passed hardcore Amnesty legislation. However, we can debate for years whether it was successful, or not? However, with Michelle Bachman/Palin running around the Democrats better act fast, or this won't happen until after 2012.
If these 6 primary factors get acted on when the newest immigration bill gets signed into legislation then the Hispanic migration problem will vastly improve over the next decade. In overall, I've experienced the broken immigration system and it's overlapping shortfalls firsthand with knowing individuals who've gotten married to avoid deportation while on an expired green card. Furthermore, my current boyfriend of 2 years (that is Mexican-- I'm gay & White by the way) has family in Mexico whose been threatened by gang violence, and my immediate family has Hispanic members.
