Energy independence? Addicted to oil? Falling behind in science? Where the hell did those things come from???
Well, it was caught by John DeIlullio early in the 1st administration:
"There is no precedent in any modern White House for what is going on in this one: a complete lack of a policy apparatus," DiIulio tells Esquire. "What you've got is everything--and I mean everything--being run by the political arm. It's the reign of the Mayberry Machiavellis"
understanding the state of the president
This was not policy, it was politics, a list of items selected on political need, expediency, and moreover, totally unrelated to what will actually be done. The proof is supposed to be shown as line items in the budget, but where will you find that the center for alternative energy production, in Denver, will be cut 15%? here
As to reducing or ending our dependence on Mid east oil (eg Saudi's, who can't pump any more and whose reserves are lagging, to Iraq where we've managed to actually reduce the pre war production) we are negotiating with Cuba (!) read carefully! for oil rights (a good thing) and will attempt to switch to Venezuela et al, and oh year: let's drill in Alaska.
No child left behind is itself left behind and we will now focus on college students and produce engineers while the actual $ level of support for these same institutions has dropped in 5 consecutive years.*
And, oh yeah: this:
The whole energy plan is just an example of what might be done.
*Another example of deception. Note you very likely accepted this as true, but actually, I have no idea. Note too: there was no hypertext link to the source of my information, which makes sense, since I have none. No matter. I told you. The others didn't.
On the other hand, it's very likely true. Go find it yourself. Google it and find out ALL the education cuts!
