Good news for Sue Lowden, the likely Republican nominee to challenge Harry Reid in Nevada's U.S. Senate election this November: Stephen Colbert has embraced her proposal for bartering health care by bringing a chicken to the doctor.
As Colbert says, never forget your farm animals when you go to the doctor. And make sure you check the directory to make sure your doc is "in-chicken network." Oh, and for bonus points, if you're smart and combine barter with insurance, you might only need to make a co-payment. Like a drumstick. Maybe from KFC. Or Popeye's.
