I'm posting this in response to about four bajillion (I'm a college student, so it's okay for me to make up new words ;-) posts that ask "Is Dean unstoppable?" (this question is also asked with regards to Clark in some circles). Can Gephardt, Edwards, Kerry, or Lieberman
start their campaigns? I say 'start' as a synonym for 'reboot' because the way their numbers are trending, both in polls and leaked financing numbers, certainly appear as if none of these four men are campaigning.
So, if you answered yes to the question "Is Dean unstoppable", please explain a viable scenario in which any of these four men could revive their campaigns with enough time to sneak by with the nomination.
You've probably noticed I haven't mentioned Clark. I didn't mention him in the subject list because his campaign appears to be off and running just fine, albeit not as strongly as Dean's.
Neither did I mention the so-called vanity candidates, because short of an endorsment from the Big Guy Upstairs (and I don't mean Bill Clinton...well, maybe him too), these guys don't stand a chance.
Or maybe none of these four do. Perhaps they play a different role: political cover for the eventual nominee. By 'cover' I mean that even though Bush is flush with cash, he can't attack every Dem, so he has to hold back on spending until a winner does emerge.
