I am a native of Miami and currently live in Fort Lauderdale. I have lived in Florida most of my life. I work in the service industry and am very nervous about the prospects of this oil spill hitting the gulf stream and smearing my home town beaches. I see these awful pictures and can't stop thinking about the gaping hole pumping oil into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. I use to swim in the beaches there every summer. I am sickened by the images of the white sands smeared with tar balls and dead animals. I am trying not to imagine the smell of death and fumes but I can't help myself. All the people out of work. All the businesses that will close. Can the signs on the beach that warn about toxic unsafe for swimming water be far behind? KEEP OUT OF THE WATER is impossible for me to believe.
I wonder if it is possible to set up a shipping operation in one of those sea shell shops along the Tar Ball Coast. A place where natives could bring sand encrusted tar balls to be packaged and shipped back to BP or any other politician who ever thought Drill Drill Baby Drill is a good Idea. We could call it a Tar Ball Party
No Tar Balls ban offshore drilling
